JEFFREY
KRAMER
MAY 2, 2009Jeffrey Kramer,
best known for his role as Deputy Lenny Hendricks in the first
two JAWS films, is just about the friendliest and nicest
celebrity I have had the pleasure of meting in my entire
collection. Mr. Kramer brings a smile and charm into any room
and in any setting. After meeting him at JAWSFEST '05 in
Martha's Vineyard, and again in L.A. at the premiere of "The
Shark is Still Working," I feel as if this man is a buddy that
I have known for years. His kindness, generosity and
willingness to simply want to chat is just amazing. Jeffrey
really is that nice of a man and such a treat to have met. I
just don't have enough words to describe how wonderful it is
to have met him. I can only hope that if you, too, admire the
work of this man like I do, that you can share a smile with
Jeffrey by meeting him one day. You'll cherish it.

JOE ALVES
MAY 2, 2009 |

You may hear many names in Hollywood that
have become household names. Many have won Oscars and much
acclaim. However, if you added up the body of work,
accomplishments and successful films that Mr. Joe Alves has
been a part of, then his name ranks side by side with any of
them. Mr. Alves was the production designer for the film
"JAWS." Special effects, especially back in those days, is his
specialty. A tremendously gifted and brilliant mind, Joe is
extremely generous to his fans and always willing to talk
about his trade. |
JIM LADD and RAECHEL DONAHUE
MAY 2, 2009 |
|
 |
 |
| Former KMET disc jockeys
JIM LADD and RAECHEL DONAHUE were at the premier of the
documentary "AIRPLAY," a look back at the history of AM/FM
rock radio, in Los Angeles, 5/2/2009. Legendary Jim Ladd, the
only DJ left in America that can play whatever he wants in a
free form format, weeknights on KLOS, and the ever-beautiful
Raechel Donahue (along with her late husband Troy Donahue)
were the pioneers of the L.A. music scene and started KMET. I
am so proud and so thankful to have been able to take a
picture with these radio giants. I literally grew up with both
of these DJs and admire them and hold them with such prestige. |
VERY SPECIAL NOTE: I have listened to Jim Ladd for
over 30+ years, and though I'm sure he has had a thousand
nights where his shows were worthy of any to be considered as
his best, it is hard to argue, and to those like me that
remember, Jim Ladd was indeed at his finest the nights following
the death of John Lennon. Jim Ladd (and David Perry) found the
right
words, expressed the passion, the
heartache, the sadness and the madness of that first week
after John Lennon's assassination. To comfort us fans seeking
comfort at KMET, Jim (and David) equally balanced the
sadness with the joy that John Lennon's life celebrated. As
long as I live, I will never forget that week in December of
1980. Thank God for KMET and the healing that Jim Ladd, David
Perry and the rest of that marvelous air staff delivered. Jim
has had many nights where his words and shows were at their
best. Non, however, can compare to the soul he expressed at
the saddest week in all of rock-n-roll. |

PETE ROSE
AUGUST,
2007Pete Rose was at
StarLive 365 in the Forum shops of Caesar's Palace doing
signings. Though a fee was of course charged, it was a great
chance for me to obtain a signed photo, bat, ball and a
personally signed jersey. |
SUSAN BACKLINE
JUNE
3, 2005 |
|
| Susan Backline (Chrissie
Watkins) and Lee Fierro (Mrs. Kintner), both from the epic
film, "JAWS" were such
indeed a treat to meet during JAWSfest on the island of
Martha's Vineyard in June of 2005. Both ladies wonder, sweet
and kind as can be. Posing for photographs, signing autographs
and telling stories of their adventures during the filming of
this epic motion picture. |
 |
LEE FIERRO
JUNE 3, 2005Mrs. Fierro had
not seen some of the memorabilia that I had brought for
signing. To my surprise that weekend, I too saw so much JAWS
memorabilia that I never knew existed.
I am still so thrilled to this day to
have met these lovely ladies, and had a chance to chat with
both of them.

ROGER WATERS
MAY 25, 2002 |
On a trip to
visit a friend who lives north of Stockholm, Sweden, my wife
and I went to see Roger Waters at The Globe arena on his 2nd
leg portion of his "IN THE FLESH" solo tour. We had seen the
show previously in L.A., but just couldn't pass up the chance
to see him again. Prior to the show, I waited for several
hours in the rainy mist at "The Grand Hotel." Stopping before
he entered his van, Roger posed for photographs and signed
autographs for his fans. The show was a mix of both solo songs
and Pink Floyd classics. Finally, fans were able to hear live
several cuts from his 3rd solo LP, "AMUSED TO DEATH," an LP
that he never toured in support of. Roger has always been both
very kind and generous to me as a collector every time I have
ever been luck enough to ask him for a signature. |

EMMYLOU HARRIS
AUGUST 8, 2000 |
|
 |
 |
The very
beautiful and gifted singer, EmmyLou Harris. Miss Harris has
one of the most awesome voices in all of female rock and roll.
I saw her at a party for the "GATHERING OF THE CLAN" - the
benefit concerts for Fred Walecki at the Santa Monica Civic on
August 8th and 9th, 2000. This all-star concert featured
Jackson Browne, Graham Nash, Bonnie Raitt, Randy Meisner,
David Crosby, Don Henley, Linda Ronstadt, Bernie Leadon and so
many others. However, meeting EmmyLou Harris and obtaining her
signature was indeed an absolute pleasure.

SAMMY HAGAR
SUMMER 1997What can I say
about Sammy Hagar that hasn't already been said? Sammy is 100%
of what is everything that is fun in Rock-n-Roll. Singer,
songwriter, guitarist, dancer, prancer, front man, and always
very generous to his fans. |
 |
 |
ROBERT PLANT
MAY 1995Rock God, and
former Led Zeppelin front man in Hollywood, California, in May
of 1995. Robert is seen standing next to my red 4 Runner as he
actually pulled over his car to sign autographs and pose for
personal photographs.
 |
GENE SIMMONS
MARCH 21, 1995While waiting
in line at Tower Records at an in store signing later on that
night by Elton John, Gene Simmons pulls up. Gene told the
crowd to let him finish shopping, and as promised stopped and
posed for photos and signed autographs.

BERNIE LEADON & KENNY
ARONOFF
MARCH 24, 1994 |
|
 |
 |
| Two of the most absolute
gifted musicians, yet not really household names.
Founding member of the rock band
"EAGLES", Bernie Leadon, and session drummer Kenny Aronoff.
Both of these very talented musicians were at the Universal
Amphitheater, "RHYTHM, COUNTRY & BLUES" benefit concert.
Bernie, better known, had a huge career in the 1970s as a
member of the EAGLES and Kenny has played drums with John
Cougar, John Fogerty and so many others. Together as part of
the house band that night they rocked on stage - and later signed autographs
and posed for photos. |

RANDY MEISNER
OCTOBER 16, 1993I saw Randy
and his band in concert in Natchez, Mississippi. Randy has
been one of the nicest and most generous of all the
celebrities to be added to my collection. |
